Spirit of Rasputin’s presents IAN TAMBLYN IN CONCERT Saturday, May 28 at 8pm OTTAWA

Spirit of Rasputin’s is happy to resume its Featured Artists series with the celebrated Canadian singer-songwriter IAN TAMBLYN in a solo concert, performing on guitars, hammer dulcimer and flute.

IAN TAMBLYN has been a working musician since 1972. He has released dozens of albums of his work as well as acting as producer for many other artists.

Over the years he has written too many songs and has given up on counting them. He has also written 14 plays and over 100 theatre soundtracks.

Ian was Artistic Director of the 2022 Ottawa Grassroots Festival. Among many awards and nominations, he became an Officer of the Order of Canada last year. He was nominated for English Songwriter of the Year at this year’s Canadian Folk Music Awards. In 2012, he was made a fellow of the Royal Canadian Geographic Society for his guiding and creative work in the Canadian Arctic.

Ian has been awarded the Estelle Klein and Helen Verger Awards for his contributions to Canadian folk music. He has a honourary doctorate from Lakehead University and a Distinguished Alumni Award from Trent University. His songs have been covered by numerous artists. A tribute album of his work entitled Coastline of our Dreams features artists including Lynn Miles, Susan Crowe, Hart Rouge and Valdy.
